I am breastfeeding and wondering if I can use Salicylic Acid in my face wash or...?

if it can be transmitted through breast milk. I know that you cannot use it while pregnant but not sure about breastfeeding... and I would just like something to clear up my face. Thanks!I am breastfeeding and wondering if I can use Salicylic Acid in my face wash or...?
From what I understand you can, just in small amounts, don't lather it on and leave it to soak in a long time. The chances of enough being absorbed and then remaining unprocessed by your body before breastfeeding is small. I am currently breastfeeding and use a face wash once a week with salicylic acid in it and both my OBGYN and pediatrician have said that's just fine.I am breastfeeding and wondering if I can use Salicylic Acid in my face wash or...?
This is a good site to bookmark whenever you're considering any kind of drug: http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/ht鈥?/a>
I've been breastfeeding for a long time, and i've used a facewash containing salicylic acid every morning. I know i'm meant to avoid ingesting asprin, but a tiny bit in facewash, which absorbs in negligable amounts if anything i'm sure is fine. Moisturiser containing it should be avoided though, as it remains in your skin and is manufactured to be absorbed.
It hasn't been shown to have any effects. There is a general rule about medications and breastfeeding: if you don't eat it, it's probably not going into your milk supply. At least not enough to matter. I use salicylic face wash while breastfeeding.
