I don't think it's a good idea to WASH your face with baking soda really. I think the best reason to use baking soda on your face is when you're making a Do-It-At-Home acne remedy [Baking soda+water] and what that does is dry up your acnes, like so they're not all greasy and oily and it's easier to get rid of them.

it's good to put on zits if you want to dry them out. baking soda is good for oily skin, but i suggest you add oatmeal to it, or just use oatmeal, becasue that works better for scrubing and stuff.
Baking soda neutralizes most bacteria.
There are other effective face washes.
