Whn I wash my face, why do I have to ';pat'; it dry?

Why cant I just wipe it dry. Whats the use of patting it dry?Whn I wash my face, why do I have to ';pat'; it dry?
You can just wipe it dry, but patting it ensures that the oil in your skin is not spread or wiped around any more than it absolutely has to be.

Dr. James Jeah MDWhn I wash my face, why do I have to ';pat'; it dry?
Patting is gentler on the skin. When you pat dry, the moisture and any surface dirt/oil are lifted off your skin and onto the towel. If you wipe dry, you're more likely to spread the oil and dirt around, and push it into your pores.
repetitive rubbing will strecth your face and you will get wrinkles sooner. always pat dry
Rubbing can make your skin raw.
you cant wipe it dry because you'll be rough to your skin and that defeats the purpose of washing it in the first place. by patting it, you're being gentle to your skin.

remember, your skin is the most sensitive organ so take care of it.
Because wiping your skin with a towel is sometimes harsh on your skin. Patting it dry doesn't remove skin cells.
